The main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) 2018 presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Matthew Wilson Kamara has on Monday 9 August 2021 welcomed the High Court ruling by Hon. Justice Adrian Fitcher that the party should conduct its National Delegates Conference on 17, 18 and 19 September this year and adopt the new constitution of the party.
He said in an interview with Forum that the ruling is in favour of the APC and expressed hope that no member could be offended by this ruling to file another lawsuit against the party, to derail the process of adopting the democratic constitution.
Dr Samura Kamara therefore encouraged the entire membership of the APC, particularly the elites, to see the necessity of coming together for the common good of all, as that is the only way they can achieve what they want for Sierra Leone as a country.
He said this time around they should all stand strong and grow taller ahead of 2023 general elections.
He called on APC members, supporters and by extension Sierra Leoneans across the country to be patient with the APC as they have better options for Sierra Leone, irrespective of where one comes from. This, according to Dr Samura Kamara this has been common concerns he receive on daily basis when moving around the country.
He said many people have expressed that they have suffered with APC but they have not enjoy the benefit of the party but he always he has told them that his leadership will ensure the least members and supporters of the APC benefit and enjoy under his governance come 2023.
Dr Samura Kamara said the party is now going to look at the ruling and try to do the necessary things that are good for the APC, the democratic processes and procedures.
He also encouraged other senior members of the party to adopt the ruling and allow the party to move forward as 2023 is not too far, which they need to prepare themselves well.
