The widely respected Sierra Leonean statesman, H.E. Ernest Bai Koroma, has arrived in Lusaka, Zambia where he will once again be leading a team of experts to observe the presidential elections under the aegis of the African Union (AU).
Zambians will be going to the polls on August 12 2021 to choose their next leaders. The AU is keen on supporting member states in deepening democracy on the continent through free, fair and peaceful elections.
Former President Koroma believes that these ideals are critical to Africa’s stability and economic development and that these next few days are going to be crucial in protecting Zambia’s democratic credentials, peace and stability. There could be no better way that Zambians could honour the memory of the Great Kenneth Kaunda than to ensure a peaceful, credible and acceptable outcome of the polls.
Please stay tuned for the latest developments from the ground.
